It’s that magical time of year when the summer hiking season on the Great Divide Trail winds down and all our GDTA members head to the Alberta Wilderness Association’s office in Calgary for our Annual General Meeting.
Join us for an evening with Paula Duncan, one of the first women to solo hike the Great Divide Trail, as she shares her experience both on and off the trail. Paula not only walked the 1250 km wilderness route through the Canadian Rockies but she did it alone and raised funds for Child Haven International while doing it, which makes this an extraordinary adventure! Paula will present a few unexpected tips for GDT prep, a narrative of the journey accompanied by select photos, and an exploration of what continues to influence her life a decade or so after a long walk. Come meet others who are interested in building, preserving and protecting the Great Divide Trail. Refreshments provided.
Paula’s presentation will be followed by the Great Divide Trail Association Annual General Meeting. Stay and hear about the great work of the GDTA and how you can get involved. Come meet others who are interested in building, preserving and protecting the Great Divide Trail. Refreshments will be provided.
Doors will open at 6:30 pm and Paula’s talk will start at 7:00 pm. The event will run until about 9:00 pm.
Attendance is FREE, but a ticket is required so register on Eventbrite now and come join us on October 2!
