Charlie Russell – Living and Hiking with Grizzlies GDTA Fundraiser

March 21, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

SOLD OUT

Join us for a fundraising evening of stories with one of the world’s most renowned bear experts, Charlie Russell. Hear about Charlie’s journey of discovery into the true nature of grizzly bears, including working with Spirit Bears on Princess Royal Island, British Columbia and raising grizzly bear cubs in Kamchatka, Russia. An author, photographer and self-taught pilot with an adventurous spirit, Charlie has spent the better part of 54 years studying and living with grizzlies. A true pioneer Charlie’s stories continue to surprise us and challenge our thinking about brown bears.

Charlie is featured in the BBC films Bear Man of Kamchatka and Edge of Eden, and has published the books Spirit Bear, Grizzly Heart, Grizzly Seasons and Learning to Be Wild: Raising Orphan Grizzlies.

Dustin Lynx, author of Hiking Canada’s Great Divide Trail guidebook, will start off the evening by sharing a few of his adventures in the wilderness of the Great Divide Trail and beyond; its remoteness, beauty and the need for coexistence with wildlife.

Come learn about a brown bear’s true nature, how we can keep them safe and how we can stay safe in the backcountry.

With the generous sponsorship of DIRTT Environmental Solutions, this event is a fundraiser for the Great Divide Trail Association. All money raised from ticket sales will be used to build the first new section of trail in 30 years, the High Rock Trail. Thank you for your support.

Please note that this event is SOLD OUT.
