Trip #11 – Maligne Pass Walking Trip – with Friends of Jasper National Park, Self-Supported Trip (waiting list only)

FreeExciting news – We are partnering with the Friends of Jasper National Park to continue clearing a challenging, overgrown stretch in the Maligne River Valley, on the historic Mary Schaffer route from Maligne Pass to Maligne Lake. This trip is full but contact us if you are interested in being put on the waiting list or are interested in our other trips. Come join us in the mountains, build trail, sleep under the stars and be inspired!
- DATES: August 18 to 21, 2022
- CAMP SET-UP: Group trail camp at Mary Schaffer trail campsite. Volunteers must bring all personal camping equipment.
- FOOD: Volunteers will bring & cook their own food.
- REQUIREMENTS: Trail building experience is not required, but volunteers should have experience backcountry camping and hiking with full packs.
- The GDTA will not be organizing carpooling this year due to the pandemic so volunteers will have to arrange their own rides to Jasper.
- The Friends of Jasper and the GDTA will provide all trail maintenance tools, training, and safety orientation. Crew orientation will take place in Jasper the evening of August 18 prior to heading out on the trail on August 19. See our Volunteer Guide for more information.
