The Great Divide Trail Association ran a successful booth from November 1-3 at the Banff Mountain Film Festival. Sixteen volunteers took turns signing up new association members, selling merchandise and providing information about the trail. Visitors to the booth ranged from thru-hikers and section hikers who have completed the route, to international visitors who had never heard of the trail.
The Banff Mountain Film Festival marked the debut for the GDTA’s new booth space. With a redesigned backdrop and display shelving for merchandise, the booth attracted lots of attention and encouraged festival goers to come over and chat.
Volunteers sold over $1,000 worth of merchandise, including the ever-popular GDT logo Kula Cloth, and brand new five-panel hats. If you missed out on stopping by the booth to get your merch, a selection is available on Geartrade (check back soon for online availability for hats). The GDTA benefits financially from all merch sales, and our merch makes fantastic gifts.
The GDTA also signed up 19 new members, generating $710 for the organization. New sign ups over the weekend (both in person and online) were entered to win a pack generously provided by Durston Gear.
The BMFF booth was a huge success this year, generating over double the revenue of the year before, in addition to all of the information we provided to festival goers. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth. Keep an eye on our website and follow us on social media for information about future events!
